Householders near Lydd Ranges are today urged to keep their windows and doors shut to stop smoke from a massive grass fire pouring in.
Residents have been told to do this by firefighters after flames erupted on the land near Tourney Road at around 11.15am today.
The blaze has gripped 200 by 50 metres of undergrowth.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service says that crews are using flex packs and beaters to bring the fire under control.
