The plane, operated by Lithuanian based Small Planet Airlines, landed just after lunchtime and attracted lots of attention from residents.

Campaigners against the expansion of the airport mooted their concerns at the aircraft's arrival pointing to noise levels and the proximity to the Dungeness nuclear power station.

Lydd Air, a charter flight company based at the airport, posted this video to their Facebook page saying it was hopeful of one of hundreds to come.
