Travellers have pitched up on land in New Romney.
More than six caravans and their related vehicles are reported to have set up an encampment on St Martin's Field, off of Fairfield Road.
A Folkestone and Hythe District Council spokesman: "It is New Romney Town Council’s land and they are taking the appropriate legal steps.
"We are supporting them with this."
A statement posted on the New Romney Town Council Facebook page today confirmed work is being done in line with the law: "Please be assured that New Romney Town Council is aware of the situation at St. Martin's Field.
"There is a Court Order in place, however, due process must be carried out in order that a Warrant of Execution may be issued.
"The Town Council is currently doing everything within its power to deal with this matter urgently."
