A victim of a road crash a fortnight ago died yesterday.
A 73-year-old van driver succumbed to his injuries after the smash with a car on the A259 near New Romney.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
Det Sgt Scott Lynch, the investigating officer, said: “The driver of the van died from injuries in hospital.
“We would urge anyone who may have seen the collision, or the vehicles prior to the collision, to contact us.”
The accident happened at 7pm on Saturday, June 7, close to the junction of B2075 Romney Road to Lydd.
Police believe that the Ford Escort van was travelling from the direction of Brenzett towards New Romney.
As it passed the junction to Lydd it lost control and was in collision with a silver Peugeot 206, which had been travelling in the opposite direction.
The occupants of the car suffered minor injuries.
About 10 firefighters, from the Lydd and Hythe stations, had been called to the crash and freed trapped victims with hydraulic cutting equipment.
Witnesses to the accident are asked to contact the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit appeal line on 01622 798538.
