A group of men found themselves in deep water after their van ended up in the English Channel.
The four men entertained passers-by on a beach in Dymchurch as they struggled to recover their vehicle from the icy waters.
It is thought that the silver Ford Transit-turned-submersible may have got into difficulty while attempting to retrieve jet skis.
An eyewitness said: "I was cycling along the beach when I saw them struggling.
"I am not quite sure what happened, but I would imagine that they were trying to recover their jet skis.
"They certainly didn't look like they were having a particularly good day!"
It is, of course, possible to travel to France from certain points of the Kent coast, however boats are a more recommended form of transport for such a voyage.
The exact circumstances of how the van ended up in the water are not known.
It is also not known whether or not the vehicle was salvaged after the incident.
This is not the first time that drivers have come afoul of the sea in the last month.
In May, fast-thinking beachgoers in Whistable clubbed together to rescue a VW Polo that was moments away from being submerged completely.
