Four dads who are hitting back at politicians with a national billboard campaign are continuing to spread their anti-Brexit message in Sandwich.

Led By Donkeys, a mysterious Twitter account, has already been occupying the space of a double billboard in Ramsgate Road, on the outskirts of Thanet, for two weeks.

Aimed at humiliating politicians with their own words, it features comments made by Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling, contradicting himself over trade agreements.

But the anonymous group has exclusively revealed to KentOnline that the posters will be soon be changed to feature further contradictory statements.

Campaigner 'Adam' said the group has identified the Thanet constituency - with its link to Nigel Farage - as a key area in their campaign.

He said: "Thanet is an important one as it has been a bit of a battle ground.

"Farage has used it for his campaigning and there's been a lot of support in coastal Kent for leaving the EU.

"With that, we thought it was an important location to show off some of the lies that the Brexit community has been putting forward."

One side of the new poster - set to be installed in the coming days - will feature a tweet by Leave E.U from October 2016, stating how claims that Nissan would scale back its UK operation because of Brexit were untrue.

The other will be a tweet from Sky News from February 2019.

It reads: "Japanese car maker Nissan is cancelling plans to build its X-Trail model at its plant in Sunderland."

Adam, who is one of four key people behind the group, continued: "We think getting this information out to the places that voted Leave is really good.

"These are just the words of Leavers and we're putting them into the public sphere.

"We don't tell people how to interpret them.

"It puts the words back in front of you and it gets you to reprise what's happened. That's when the Brexit lies are exposed."

The group started their billboard campaign in mid January and initially erected the large posters themselves.

They've since raised about £220,000 on a crowdfunding page which has allowed them to buy the space and pay companies to take over the work.

They've turned thousands of heads with posters in almost 200 locations including Wales and Northern Ireland.

Adam said: "It was from small acorns, an idea down the pub, and it's just grown and grown.

"What's been lovely is apart from a couple of £1,000 donations it's just been people giving £10 or £20 - ordinary people with ordinary amounts of cash.

"It's been overwhelming the amount of support we've had."

A number of other MPs and even current Prime Minister Theresa May have fallen victim to the campaign.

Posters have previously been seen in Westgate Road in Dartford and Dover.
