Immigration arrests after 'asylum seekers' seen getting out of lorry near Sandwich Bypass

Two arrests have been made after people thought to be asylum seekers were seen climbing from a lorry near a main road.
Police were called to the A256 Ramsgate Road in Sandwich after reports people were seen getting out of a HGV.
A spokesman for the force said: "Officers attended and two people were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.
"Their cases have been referred to Home Office Immigration Enforcement."
The incident happened shortly before 6am.
