Men arrested after car break-ins at the Cattle Market in Sandwich

Police have arrested two men following reports people were attempted to steal vehicles.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, officers received a report people had been seen tampering with vehicles before trying to gain access to others parked on the Cattle Market in Sandwich.
Police worked together with CCTV operators and a short time later, two people were arrested.
Two vehicles were seized, one of which was reported to have been stolen during the previous evening.
Officers also recovered a suspected stolen jacket and quantities of cannabis and suspected cocaine.
Tyler Jackson, 20, from High Street, Dover, was later charged with theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a vehicle, driving without insurance, possession of a class B drug and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
He appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Friday August 2 and was remanded. The case will next be heard, at a court to be confirmed, in September.
A 21-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal, theft, and possessing class A drugs, and was released on bail pending further inquiries.
