A popular street kitchen is set to close after nine months as its owner prepares to open a new high street restaurant.
Quayside in Ramsgate Road, Sandwich, has won many fans since launching out of a horse box in March.
But owner Daniel Burgess says the time has come to shut up shop ahead of the opening of his new eatery in Broadstairs, which will specialise in smoke-infused meats and cocktails.
"With a new year and new venture to start we will be closing down our lovely little horse box venue and opening at a new restaurant location away from Sandwich, but still in the Thanet area," he said.
"If you're wanting to try us out that one last time before we move and before the new year be sure to book a table now for our final and last Sandwich event inside The Crispin Inn - Sandwich this December the 14th!"
The 26-year-old said he could never have imagined opening a restaurant at his age.
"I've worked as a chef at loads of different local restaurants and abroad and I've always worked for someone else," he said.
"I then got the lovely opportunity to open the horse box in Sandwich, which took off really well and I've created a really nice name for myself.
"From that, I have had two private investors approach me with the idea of opening a restaurant.
"So we are opening it in January next year in Broadstairs High Street, near the Co-Op."
Mr Burgess started off as a kitchen porter at the age of 16 and worked his way up to become a chef.
"I don't think it's hit me just yet, and I don't think it will until I am actually inside the restaurant and everything is running. I think it will be a real big shocker," he said.
"It is brilliant news - I could not have imagined it.
"We're going to stick to the street food-style as it sells really well.
"The menu will be an expanded version of what I already make at the horse box.
"The restaurant will be called Smoked and it's going to be all about smoke-infused meats, as well as smoke-infused cocktails."
Mr Burgess says his family will be really involved in the new restaurant.
"My partner is my front-of-house manager," he said.
"Nine out of 10 times I would have my mum, dad, or my brother helping me out at the horse box.
"My dad has always had a dream to have his own restaurant so it is really special to have the family involved."
Mr Burgess opened the horse box in March this year and is hoping the restaurant will launch early next year.
