Fate of new wine bar in Sandwich to be decided tonight

The fate of a new wine bar in Sandwich will be decided tonight when planners consider a request to change a building’s use.
Dover District Council granted wine importer Cristiano Maiello and interior designer Stephen Fairfax a licence to sell alcohol from 60 King Street, formerly Rose’s Fine Foods, in April.
They have since redecorated the listed building and named it Rosa’s Vinarium.
The pair are now hoping to be granted permission, enabling them to trade as a wine bar, cafe and delicatessen.
If approval is given, they will open it next weekend.
Case officer Vic Hester had recommended it be approved, with conditions including that the opening hours are limited to 10am to 10pm Mondays to Saturday and until 3pm on Sundays.
Mr Fairfax said: “We’ve had a massive amount of support. It’s been incredible.”
