Delays of up to an hour have been reported after a car towing a caravan caught fire, blocking both directions of a major route.
The A258 Sandwich Road, Hacklinge, was closed both ways after the vehicle went up in flames at about 9.30am.
The route, which links Deal and Sandwich, is now said to be partially blocked southbound with the northbound lane remaining shut off.
One driver on social media revealed a journey from Deal to Eastry took an hour, warning motorists to avoid the area.
Fire service and police are working at the scene, where no injuries have been reported.
