Futures for Dogs Christmas fair to raise cash for trio of Bichon Frises and other rescue dogs
08:00, 14 December 2019
Festive dog treats will be on offer at an event in aid of Future for Dogs.
The Sandwich based dog rescue is holding its annual Christmas Bits & Bobs sale in the Meeting Room in Sandwich Guildhall from 9.30am until 4pm today (Saturday).
Volunteers will be selling homemade cakes and refreshments including 'free-from' items.
It is also a chance to meet some of the foster dogs needing homes and seek advice about buying a pet dog.
Spokesman Stevie Henry said: "This time of year always gets busy for us with unwanted dogs as people get rid of them. Sadly not many are for genuine reasons.
"People do not realise what it takes to have a new puppy, especially when they are so busy over the festive period.
"We advise people wait until after Christmas."

This year, the story of three breeding bitches saved from animal euthanasia at a breeding farm is among the rescue's success stories.
Ms Henry added: "We are only grateful that these pups' first Christmas will be in a loving foster home.
"The horrors that these dogs have lived through is beyond belief.
"Please come along, say hello and support the work we do."
