A fallen tree has blocked Sandwich Road in Eastry.

It is believed recent storms and severe weather caused the tree to fall across both lanes of the road.

The road is completely blocked, just off the A256 bypass near Sandwich.

Kent Police informed Kent Highways and a KCC steward has been sent out to the scene to make an evaluation.

A spokesman for KCC said: "They will contact a team to come and remove it.

"Work will start there shortly."
