A charity fundraiser from Sandwich is organising a huge concert to mark World Sight Day on Thursday, October 8.
Laura Westcott grew up in Sandwich and attended Northbourne Park Primary School and Sir Roger Manwood’s, before moving to London where she now works as the founder and CEO of Sound Cheque, a custom made music provider.
She wanted to organise the concert for her friend Yvette Chivers who is blind.
The money raised will go to the Royal National Institute of Blind People and the aim is to provide vital funds to help find a cure for retinitis pigmentosa (RP).
Westlife’s Markus Feehily, comedian Mark Watson and Babyshambles’ Drew McConnell are among the line-up at Sound for Sight and it will be hosted by Jeremy Vine.
Britain’s Got Talent’s Paul Potts will also be performing.
It will be held at the The Tabernacle, Notting Hill, London, at 7pm.
For tickets visit www.seetickets.com and Sound for Sight or call 0871 220 0260.
