The level crossing in Woodnesborough Road, Sandwich has been stuck causing traffic delays.

They were stuck in the closed position at around 8.40am this morning due to an electrical fault.

Network Rail confirmed this had nothing to do with this morning's earthquake.

The barrier is being manually operated by Network Rail staff as of 9.30am until the fault can be fixed.

Stagecoach buses were delayed with the number 87 and 88a diverting via the 13 route out of Sandwich.

The gates were open again by 9.30am.
