A duck race which is part of a town festival has been stopped as the search for missing Lucas Dobson continues.
Organisers Sandwich Rotary Club have scrapped the event after the six-year-old fell into the River Stour on Saturday.
He has been missing ever since.
The event, a major Rotary fundraiser, was meant to take place on Bank Holiday Monday, the fourth and last day of the Sandwich Festival.
It was to be at Quay Green, Sandwich with thousands of plastic ducks released onto the river.
A statement for Sandwich Rotary Club said today: "In light if this weekends events, The Rotary Club of Sandwich has taken the decision to postpone the annual fundraising Duck Race scheduled for this coming Bank Holiday Monday.
"Our members' thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Lucas at this time.
"A further announcement will be made in due course, and in particular regarding the funds held from Duck Race tickets already sold."
Lucas, from Deal, had fallen into the river during a fishing trip after trying to step from a jetty onto a boat near Richborough Road.
Three adults jumped into the water to try to save him but the current was too strong and they were unable to find him.
The alarm was raised at 1.20pm on Saturday and the search began soon afterwards.
Hundreds of local people have been helping firefighters, the police and coastguards to find him.
A specialist diving team has also searched the river but he remains missing at present.
