Police called after man and woman allegedly assaulted after fight at Sandwich Bay

Ambulance crews and police were called to a beach after a fight in which two people in their 50s were reportedly assaulted.
The incident happened just before 10.30am yesterday at Sandwich Bay.
Officers were called following an altercation between a group of people in which a man and a woman were allegedly assaulted.
It is understood the woman was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
An investigation has now been launched to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Reports on social media suggest the brawl was between dog walkers and a group of horse riders.
