Appeal for witnesses after moped owner was 'assaulted by thieves who stole his vehicle'

A moped owner was taken to hospital after he was allegedly assaulted in a plight to retrieve his vehicle.
The incident occurred in Sandwich at around 11.15pm on Friday, November 8.
The victim, a man in his 20s, had parked his red Lexmoto moped in Strand Street two hours previously.
He reports that at 11.15pm he returned to find it was no longer parked and the bike was being ridden around by two people who then assaulted him.
The victim suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
The bike was later found abandoned in a field in Cliffsend.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who saw the theft or if they saw the bike being ridden around.
