A256 and A258 blocked following reported multi-vehicle crash at Sandwich

Roads around Sandwich and Deal have been blocked this morning following two multi-vehicle crashes.
It is understood the A256 is partially blocked in both directions with queueing traffic due to an accident between the A258 Deal Road roundabout and A257 Ash Road roundabout.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "We were called to a report of a collision involving two vehicles at 8.35am on Thursday 27 May 2021.
"Officers are attending the scene on the A256 Sandwich bypass to assist with recovery. No injuries have been reported."
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secambs) said: "We were called at approximately 8.15am to reports of an RTC on the A256, Sandwich bypass. One ambulance crews attended the scene but no one required hospital treatment."
Earlier there had been an incident nearby at Homemead Lane off the A258.
The ambulance spokesman added: "We were called to Hacklinge at 7.10am to a three vehicle collision where a woman had reportedly suffered a head injury.
"No other patients were reported.
"We sent one ambulance and the woman was assessed and treated before being taken to QEQM Hospital."
Kent Police said: "The road was clear by 10am."
Amid the disruption, a Facebook user warned: "Avoid using the road for at least the next hour as one side closed and long queues forming."
