Chaplins award winning panto is coming to Worth Parish Hall
00:01, 09 November 2015
Worth Parish Hall will come alive with the sounds of laughter and fun as Jack and the Beanstalk comes to the village.
The Chaplins touring production was voted best panto of the year, and has been sponsored by Worth Parish Hall management committee.
The committee is a registered charity that aims to bring the community of Worth together.
Chairman Ian Austin said: “The objective is to benefit people of Worth. This is for all ages and something the village could engage in just before Christmas. This isn’t a fundraiser; it’s really just something for the village.”
The committee has 11 members made up of the parish council, members of the church, parents and teachers.
Mr Austin said: “This is going to be a very good production by professionals. I would be delighted to get a full house.”
The panto will be held on Saturday December 12, with doors opening at 2.30pm for a 3pm start.
It will last two hours, including the interval, and audiences will be transported to Pantoland to meet Jack and his friends.
It promises to be full of comedy, excitement and adventure, with cheers for Jack the hero, and boos for evil Mayor Botchett.
A cast of five top will take on eight characters, including Barmy Bosworth, Dimples the cow and the comic dame Mrs Lumpkin.
It is aimed at children aged 3 to 12, but can be enjoyed by all the family. Refreshments will be available.
Tickets for the show cost £13 for adults, and £9 for children up to 12. They are available at Brunel, The Street, Worth CT14 0BY, call 01304 613997, or at Hertange, Deal Road, Worth CT14 0BG – call 01304 612106. Alternatively, email bookings@worthvillagehall.org.uk.
