Police were called to a grammar school yesterday to reports that a boy was causing a disturbance.
It happened at Sir Roger Manwood's School in Manwood Road, Sandwich at 2.22pm
A police spokesman said: "Officers attended the school and spoke to staff. No injuries were reported. The school will be dealing with the matter."
Lee Hunter, head teacher at Sir Roger Manwood’s School, said: “On Wednesday, July 11, staff dealt with an incident on the school site.
"Proper procedures were followed and the incident was dealt with quickly.
"I am aware of inaccurate rumours circulating on social media and can confirm that no weapons were involved and no one required hospital treatment.
“The incident was contained to one area, however, the safety of our pupils and staff is paramount at all times and so, as a precautionary measure, the decision was taken to ask all pupils to remain in their classrooms to enable the appropriate staff to provide the support that was required.
“I would like to thank staff for their professionalism and pupils and parents/carers for their patience and understanding.”
