A man from Sandwich has been sentenced for allowing his dog to be out of control and causing injury.
Mark Lucene Edward Blackburn, 54, of Stonar Close, was the owner of a dog which was dangerously out of control and injured a man outside the house on Christmas Eve last year.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 28 days in prison, suspended for six months, and also handed a contingent destruction order at Channel Magistrates’ Court, Folkestone, on June 2.
This means that unless the dog is kept under proper control by the owner then it will be destroyed.
The owner must keep the animal muzzled in public and kept on a lead at all times to ensure this doesn’t happen.
Mr Blackburn was also ordered to pay £300 in compensation, £85 in costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
