Secondary schools in Sandwich will close early today to ensure students can get home safely.
Sandwich Technology School and Sir Roger Manwood's Grammar School have taken the joint decision to end lessons by 2pm.
It comes after heavy snowfall is expected to fall in both the Dover and Thanet areas after 3pm which could hinder people's chances of getting home.
A statement released to parents says: "At 1.45pm we will release students to parents if you are able to collect them.
"At 2pm we will release children who catch the train to catch earlier trains."
The schools will remain open until 4pm for those who are unable to leave early.
