00:02, 09 April 2016

The stage is set and the musicians are ready for the return of the ever-popular Sandwich Prom on Sunday, July 17.

The spectacular, in aid of Martha Trust, will take place in the grounds of The Salutation, home of Steph and Dom Parker of Channel 4’s Gogglebox.

Folkestone band Rudy Warman and the Heavyweathers, Sarah and Ian Banks, guitarist Tom Abrahams and the P&O Ferries workplace choir, are among the local acts who will be performing.

Mr Parker said: “Martha Trust is local to us and does an amazing job supporting people with profound disabilities.

“We’re very proud of the Secret Gardens and couldn’t be happier to be providing the backdrop for such a lovely event for the third year running.”

Guests can enjoy the gardens while being entertained and there will be plenty to keep the kids busy too, including a treasure trail, face painting, storytelling and games.

There will be a barbecue and bars offering a selection of speciality beers, fine wines and champagnes. Half the income from drinks sold from the bar will be donated to charity.

Also new this year will be a cocktail bar provided by The Old Fashioned Cocktail Co.

Steph and Dom, who shot to fame after appearing on the Bafta award-winning show Gogglebox, will be hosting the charity auction.

Doors open at noon and tickets, in advance, cost £30 for a family (two adults and up to three children under 16 years of age), single tickets cost £12 per adult and £5 per child.

Tickets can be bought online at www.marthatrust.org.uk/sandwichprom, by calling 01304 610448, or direct from The Salutation or Hercules Wine Warehouse in Sandwich.

The event was a sell-out last year, and already this time a quarter of the tickets were sold in the first week of them going on sale.
