Parents and young children were having to navigate their way over a "dangerous" four-way junction after a car crashed into a traffic light.
A mother tweeted Kent Police saying "all the lights are gone" at the Bat and Ball junction in Sevenoaks, near Sainsbury's Local, making it "very dangerous" for "school kids and mums with prams".
The woman, whose Twitter username is @London_PR_gal, added: "You need to send down some traffic support! It's really dangerous."
Police were called just before 6am on Monday to reports a car had hit a traffic light at the junction of the A25 and St John's Hill.
Officers attended the scene but the car had left prior to their arrival.
Inquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.
Kent County Council Highways were contacted regarding the damage to the light and worked alongside UK Power Networks to resolve a power failure.
The traffic lights have now all been fixed.
