The search to find the best photograph taken at Great Comp Garden in Sevenoaks reached its exciting conclusion this weekend.

Charlotte Baker from Sidcup was announced as the winner with a floral-close up taken in the garden.

The 25-year-old, who teaches at a primary school, visits Great Comp regularly as a season ticket holder and was prompted to enter the competition which has been running all summer.

She said: "Great Comp is instantly relaxing and magical. There’s so much to see in small space.

"I also visited the garden when I was a child and the owner of the house was still alive then. It felt magical when I was little too.”

The seven acre garden at Great Comp has been Charlotte’s photographic inspiration for some time now.

She added: “Great Comp actually inspired me to begin taking photographs – I have lots now and it was hard to choose just one for the Facebook competition.

The garden inspires me because it is always so full of colour. Everywhere you look there is a wonder of nature, whether that is a beautiful flower or a butterfly."

Charlotte’s winning image of an Astrantia was taken in the Italian Garden, on the pathway near the water features.

William Dyson, Curator at the garden said: "the announcement of Charlotte's win is a fitting way to end our season as we close to visitors this weekend. We will be using Charlotte's image on the front cover of our 2015 leaflets."
