YOUNGSTERS from across the county came together to compete in the Kent Disability Youth Games 2006.

Hosted by Kent County Council’s Sports Development Unit, the games brought 75 teams to Sevenoaks School, where they competed in sports including cycling, football and archery.

Teams also played a bowls-based game called Boccia and a form of curling played on an indoor court called New Age Kurling.

KCC’s disability sport manager Mike Bishop said: "This year’s event was on a much larger scale with over 300 young people taking part.

"There was a great atmosphere. The games provide the perfect opportunity to compete and achieve in disability sport and congratulations to all those who took part."
