Two Kent aesthetics clinics have become some of the first in the UK to be officially accredited as safe and qualified to carry out non-surgical cosmetic treatments.
Save Face, which recently launched, is the first organisation in the UK to provide a register of accredited practitioners.
Cindy Knight Clinic in Tonbridge, Hildenborough, and Lumley Aesthetics in Sevenoaks are two of the first in the UK to be accredited by Save Face.
Both clinics offer wrinkle andline treatments, dermal fillers, medical peels and laser treatments.
Cindy Knight, owner of the Cindy Knight Clinic and a nurse practitioner, said: “I’ve been in this industry for a long time and it has been concerning over the years to see the number of ‘cowboy’ practitioners that have entered the market.
"It puts patients at risk and it damages the reputation of the industry as a whole. We have always operated to the highest standards and now we have a seal of approval - by becoming accredited by Save Face - that distinguishes us as such.
"Save Face is providing a way for patients to find professional, safe and qualified practitioners for the first time.”
“Being accredited by Save Face gives patients confidence and assurance of the quality of service they will receive" - Cheralyn Lumley, Lumley Aesthetics...
Cheralyn Lumley, owner of Lumley Aesthetics, said: “Being accredited by Save Face gives patients confidence and assurance of the quality of service they will receive.
"Save Face is creating a benchmark for the industry and helping to improve standards across the board, which is a very positive move forward.
"Cindy and I know that patients will be looking for this mark of quality in a practitioner and as two of the area’s most experienced and qualified clinicians, we wanted to ensure we achieved the standards as soon as possible. I’m delighted to be one of the first, as I know many more are following.”
The Save Face register is only open to registered doctors, dentists and nurses who can demonstrate that they are insured and have received certified training.
All premises are inspected and Save Face works with practitioners to help develop policies and improve standards across the industry.
Brett Collins, director of Save Face, said: “Our assessments measure qualifications and adherence to best practice standards, as well as the safety of premises, against a robust set of standards. We have patients at the heart of everything we do.
"If they decide they want a treatment, they can now find someone safe, caring and professional in their local area to carry it out for them.”
