Arrest after woman kidnapped in Edenbridge

A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap after a woman was reportedly attacked and dragged into a car.
It was reported the victim was walking along Station Road in Edenbridge at around 7.30pm when a man got out of his car and chased her.
The victim - who is believed to be known to the suspect - is said to have been punched repeatedly before being dragged into the vehicle, which pulled into nearby road, Westways.
A 23-year-old from Edenbridge was later arrested in connection with the incident, which happened on on Wednesday, May 31.
Joe Smith, of Wellingtonia Way, has been charged with kidnap. He was remanded in custody by magistrates to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on July 3.
Detectives would like to speak to anyone with information who has not yet contacted police.
They are particularly keen to speak to the driver and occupants of a vehicle described as a white pickup truck, who are believed to have tried to intervene during the incident.
