Police are appealing for the public's help to track down a thief who stole a car while asking for a test drive.
The victim had invited the thief to their home earlier this year after listening the car for sale online.
The thief arrived at Hillview Road in Dunton Green on July 14, claiming to be a mechanic acting on the potential buyer's behalf.
He asked a number of questions about the vehicle before asking to take it for a test drive.
The victim agreed and entered the car with the thief, who then claimed the boot was open.
As the victim got out of the car to shut it, the man suddenly drove off at speed.
Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.
A spokesperson from Kent Police said: "Detectives have completed a number of enquiries and are now asking anyone who recognises the man to call the appeal line on 01622 604100 quoting YY/24992/18.
"Alternatively you can contact the independent charity ‘Crimestoppers in Kent’ anonymously on 0800 555 111."
