A man suffered slight burns after a Transit van caught alight on the M26.

It happened just before 1pm in the coast-bound carriageway near J1 for Otford.

Firefighters and the Highways Agency were called to the scene but there was no need for police or paramedics to attend.

The white van came to a stop on the hard shoulder but a lane was closed temporarily.

The motorway was reopened and delays cleared by 3pm.
