MP for Tonbridge and Malling, Tom Tugendhat, has welcomed news the X-ray department at an Edenbridge hospital is to re-open.
The facility at Edenbridge War Memorial Hospital, in Mill Hill, closed for 10 months while a new part-time radiographer was recruited.
It is due to re-open on Monday, September 21. Opening times will remain the same as they were before and the department has been upgraded by the League of Friends, whose hard work has ensured the hospital continues to serve the community.
Commenting on the news, Mr Tugendhat, said: “I welcome the news that the X-ray unit will re-open at Edenbridge War Memorial Hospital. This will provide an important service to people in Edenbridge and surrounding villages who rely on a well-equipped local hospital.
“I needed the service myself a few months ago and was one of many who had to travel to Pembury instead.
"Although it is disappointing it has taken 10 months to re-open I am pleased that the X-ray department will soon be operating fully.”
The facility will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 2.30pm.
