An expectant mother who died in a crash on the M25 has been named.

Police were called to Junction 5 of the motorway near Chevening, Sevenoaks, last month when a grey Suzuki Swift came off the road and collided with a fence.

The driver, who it later emerged was pregnant, was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance crews at around 3.30pm on Friday, August 16.

She has since been named as baton twirler Lucinda Harding from Eastbourne, Sussex.

The British Baton Twirling Sports Association paid tribute to her in a statement on social media, saying: "Our hearts are broken by the tragic loss of one of our most beautiful shining stars, Lucinda, and her baby girl Niamh.

"Our heartfelt love goes out to her fiancé and wonderful family at this tragic loss.

"Your twirling family will never forget you. Heart of gold, a truly beautiful human who we all loved.

"Shine bright beautiful girls, we love you."

At her funeral in the town last week, female attendees were asked to wear a pair of Minnie Mouse ears in her memory.

The coroner's office confirmed an inquest into her death will be heard at the Archbishop's Palace in Maidstone on December 18.

Police are continuing to appeal for those who saw the Suzuki travelling toward the south-bound A21 before the crash to get in touch.

Det Sgt Lynn Lewis, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We are working hard to establish the full circumstances of this collision, which tragically led to both the deaths of a young woman and her unborn child.

"We believe there may be motorists who have important footage on their vehicle dash cams, who have yet to contact us.

"This could include those travelling in the opposite direction of the M25 and who may not have even noticed the collision.

"I would urge anyone who uses this route to double check any cameras they may have and to contact us if they can assist our investigation."
