10:20, 21 May 2014

A Sevenoaks road was blocked when a lorry with a crane hit a railway bridge this morning.

Police closed the A25 Maidstone Road in both directions after the accident at about 9am.

The u-can tipper truck, carrying a load including bricks, was left under the bridge and was causing problems for rush-hour commuters.

Part of the crane had broken off and was seen in the road between London Road and the Shoreham Lane turn-off.

Police shut the road so the lorry could be moved and officers directed traffic.

Motorists were urged to expect delays and plan alternative routes.
