A supermarket giant has announced the closure of a town centre store.
Tesco has said it will be shutting the doors of Tesco Metro in Sevenoaks High Street for the final time on Saturday, October 27.
The news comes shortly after competitor Aldi revealed plans to open a new store in Ortford Road in November.
Jonathan Taylor, Tesco’s managing director for large stores, said: "We have today announced to colleagues that we have taken the difficult decision to close our Sevenoaks Metro store on Sevenoaks High Street.
"Our priority now is to explain what this announcement means for our colleagues and wherever possible, offer them alternative roles with Tesco.
"We would like to thank all our customers who have shopped in our store and we will continue to do our best to serve them through our Sevenoaks Riverhead Superstore."
