Sevenoaks ranked in top socially distanced holiday spots according to Instagram

A district in Kent has been named one of the top eight most popular places for a socially distanced holiday in the UK.
Data analysed on social media platform Instagram found Sevenoaks is currently the second most tagged staycation hotspot with more than 217k posts.
The research carried out by accommodation experts Lakelovers shows Sevenoaks is also more likely to support social distancing than other areas.
With Covid-19 encouraging more people to enjoy a holiday at home, its popularity has been put down to its rich history and architecture, while its stunning parks and gardens provide Instagram worthy shots.
Keswick in Cumbria beat Sevenoaks to the pole position with more than 355k posts.
Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk came third with 203k posts followed by Rutland in the East Midlands with 195k mentions.
Other areas that made it into the top eight were Dunbar, the Isle of Harris and Motherwell in Scotland, and Holkham in Norfolk.
All areas are currently on medium alert and are safe to travel to under the government's three tier system.
Sevenoaks has also been proving its popularity with home owners as house prices in the area have risen 44% since lockdown .
The average price for a three bedroom home has jumped from around £297k to a staggering £428k making it one of the most sought after locations in the South East.
