Unexploded bomb found in river near Penshurst

An unexploded bomb has been found in a river in a quiet village.
The foot-long cylindrical object was discovered near Penshurst at around 6.20pm yesterday before being removed by bomb disposal experts.
Officers in Sevenoaks tweeted about the incident in the early hours of this morning.
The tweet said: "#Team5 have been in #Penshurst dealing with suspected unexploded ordinance.
"The device was located in a local river.
"Specialist disposal officers attended taking it away after examining it."
Kent Police has been contacted for more information.
