Sevenoaks general election 2024 results in full

The Conservatives have held onto Sevenoaks.

In what’s been an otherwise disappointing night for the Tories both nationally and here in Kent, Laura Trott bucked the trend and retained her seat.

The former chief secretary to the treasury scored 18,328 votes, 5,440 votes ahead of the Lib Dems' Richard Streatfeild on 12,888.

James Milmine, from Reform UK, was third on 9,341 with Labour’s Denise Scott-McDonald scoring 6,802 votes. The full results are below.

Verification confirmed 50,050 cast their votes in the constituency earlier today – which amounts to 67.9% of people in the area.

It’s a drop of more than 3% from the 2019 election, which saw 71.35% turnout.

Laura Trott declined to do an interview after winning, saying she “had an early start”.

Speaking earlier this evening, Reform UK candidate James Milmine told KentOnline the exit polls were “very exciting” and his party will “send a message” tonight.

He said: “It’s looking like we’re definitely going to be winning seats, in fact we already have with Lee Anderson which is fantastic news.

“The results for the overall vote share is really encouraging too. Quite often we’re second place and taking a lot of votes which is really encouraging.

“I’m optimistic in Sevenoaks we’ll see a strong showing for Reform UK. Whether or not it’s enough to win I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see, but I think there’s going to be a messa
