Leysdown's Coin Castle arcade donates stationery to Eastchurch Primary School

00:01, 05 July 2015

An amusement arcade has donated 12 boxes of stationery to two primary schools.

Coin Castle in The Promenade, Leysdown, handed over the items – including pencils, exercise books, rulers, paint brushes, rubber bands and more – at Eastchurch, St Clement’s site, on Tuesday, June 23.

They will be shared with the school’s All Saints site in Warden Road and will be used partly as office supplies.

Some of the materials will be used as prizes in a reward scheme where the children are given a raffle ticket for the chance to pick something from one of the boxes if they hand in homework on time.

Jon Brown, of Coin Castle, said the business acquired the stationery a couple of years ago and began to give it away as prizes to customers but recently decided to approach the Leysdown Road, Leysdown, school.

He said: “We always knew we would like to do something for the school on an educational help basis as it is Leysdown’s local school where all the kids go and we feel privileged to be able to do so now.”
