Arrest made after man stabbed in Alma Street in Sheerness

A man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing near a beach.
The incident happened in Alma Street, Sheerness on Sheppey at about 2pm yesterday (February 25).
The road was taped off from about 4pm and one police car was at the scene for most of the day.
Police say the victim was allegedly approached by a man known to him and was assaulted.
He was stabbed and taken to hospital but has since been discharged. The other man fled the scene.
Officers carried out inquiries at the scene.
A 49-year-old local man was arrested and taken into custody two hours later.
He remains in custody.
