Man arrested after disturbance in Sheerness High Street leaves two people injured

Police are looking for witnesses after two people were taken to hospital following an assault.

The appeal comes after a man was arrested in connection with a disturbance in Sheerness.

At around 7.10pm on Monday, May 13, the police received a report of an assault and criminal damage inside an address in Coronation Road.

It is alleged a suspect left on foot towards the High Street where he assaulted members of the public and damaged some vehicles.

Two of the victims, a man and a woman, were later taken to hospital for medical attention.

Patrols were dispatched at 7.16pm and arrived at the scene two minutes later, where they detained a 30-year-old man.

He was taken into custody and an investigation is underway.

A South East Coast Ambulance spokesperson said: “SECAmb were called to reports of people in need of medical attention.

“Crews arrived and assessed and treated one person at the scene and took one person to the Medway Maritime Hospital for further treatment.”
