Arrests over alleged drone smuggling at Swaleside prison, Sheppey

A drone was allegedly used to smuggle cannabis and mobile phones into a prison.
Police believe items were dropped inside Sheppey's HMP Swaleside between March 16 and Monday.
A man and a woman appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Ingrid Edwards, of Wolfe Crescent, Charlton, south east London, was charged with two counts of bringing prohibited items into a prison.
Daniel Lee Kelly, of Amblecote Meadows, Grove Park, south east London, was also charged with the same offences.
The pair have been ordered to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, May 24.
Kelly, 37, was remanded in custody until then while 25-year-old Edwards has been released on bail.
