Blaze destroys wooden pontoons at the Klondyke Industrial Estate, near Queenborough Creek

A blaze ripped through disused wooden pontoons at a boatyard late last night.
Firefighters were called out to Queenborough, on the Isle of Sheppey shortly before 11pm after reports came in that smoke and flames could be seen.
Upon arrival crews found about two tonnes of disused wooden boat pontoon platforms alight in the boatyard near Queenborough Creek.
Firefighters worked with the yard owner and put in place a boundary cooling system to prevent the fire from spreading, but allowing it to burn out under control.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: "This helped to prevent further environmental damage to the surrounding area, including Queenborough Creek, due to other materials such as polystyrene being involved in the fire."
No one was injured crews spent about an hour-and-a-half at the scene.
Lucy Hurdle, spokesman for police added: "Kent Police was called by Kent Fire and Rescue Service at 11.45pm to reports of a fire at Klondyke Industrial Estate, Queenborough.
"Officers attended the scene and provided support for crews.
"The fire is not currently being treated as suspicious."
