Sheppey Crossing shut after crash between B2005 and A2500

A bridge was forced to close after a car crashed into the central reservation.
People travelling between the Isle of Sheppey and Sittingbourne faced delays after the collision, which happened just before 5.30am.
The crossing between the B2005 and A2500 was closed as a result, but had reopened by 7.30am.
Police were called to the scene but no injuries were reported.
A spokesman added: “Kent Police was called at on Friday to a report that a car had struck the central reservation on the Sheerness-bound carriageway of the Sheppey Crossing.
“Officers attended where the scene where no injuries were reported. The carriageway was closed to allow gritting to be completed and has now reopened.”
