Sheppey Way, near Kingsferry Bridge, is closed following accident and oil spill

A bridge linking an island to mainland Kent has been shut following two separate incidents.
Police were first called to Sheppey Way at around 6am after a car crashed into street furniture just before the Kingsferry Bridge, headed towards Sheerness.
No injuries were reported.

The road was also closed earlier in the morning due to an oil spill with motorists saying they were asked to turn around.
It remains shut while the spill is cleaned up and for vehicle recovery to attend.
