Sheppey’s weatherman says his analysis shows that we could be in for snow this week.

Darren Prescott, who measures the elements at his home in Bay View, thinks Thursday is the most likely to see falls.

The 35-year-old, who works at Westlands School in Sittingbourne, said: “There is a good chance of a small amount of snow this week but at the moment it’s not looking like being noteworthy amounts.

“Tonight sees a low chance of some snow flurries moving down from the north, then there’s a low risk of snow showers coming in from the sea Tuesday and Wednesday as winds veer north-easterly.

“Thursday is our best chance of seeing snow showers blowing in from the sea.

“On Friday less-cold air moves down from the north, reducing the chance of snow.

“And by the weekend, although it’ll be cold at the surface, there will be a layer of milder air aloft, meaning snow will be very unlikely by then.”
