Fire crews and ambulance called to Alma Road, Sheerness after flat fire

Emergency crews descended on a residential street following reports of smoke and fire at a flat.
Two fire engines, along with an ambulance, were called to Alma Road at 6.40pm.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets, pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke.
“There were no reported injuries.”
Fire crews left the scene shortly after 8pm.
Pictures and videos taken by those on the street show two fire engines and an ambulance in the road.
Police and ambulance service have been contacted for more information.
