With just the clothes on her back, some comfy shoes on her feet and a bottle of water, one woman embarked on a scenic trek across the Island.
On Saturday, Deacon of the Hope Street Centre church in Sheerness, Pru Cahill, walked a route that took her to all 14 churches on Sheppey to raise money for charity.
The minister, who is to be ordained next month, decided to complete her journey for Christian Aid week, which saw people across the country doing sponsored deeds for the cause.
Ms Cahill set off alone in the morning from St Thomas the Apostle, Harty, and travelled to the Sheppey Evangelical Church in Warden Bay.
A number of people joined her for different legs of the trip, with at least a dozen completing stages of the 15-mile expedition.
At midday, walkers and non-walkers met at the Minster Abbey Church to enjoy a light lunch in the sunshine. She said: “Last year I did a sleep-over in the church, this year it was about finding something imaginative.
“I also wondered if it was possible to walk across the Island in a day. People said it would be too far to walk and that spurred me on.”
She raised £476 for Christian Aid, which is money that will be spent helping relief work in Nepal following the two recent earthquakes and also to help victims of an Ethiopian drought.
