The Sheppey Crossing was closed after a collision involving two cars.
A red Ford Escort and a green Land Rover Freelander were involved in the collision, which happened on the Sheppey-bound carriageway.
It happened at the top of the crossing at about 3.50pm on Tuesday.
The man in the Land Rover was treated for minor shock, and the driver of the Escort was uninjured.
The Sheppey-bound carriageway was closed by police at about 4pm so the vehicles could be recovered. Traffic was diverted over the Kings Ferry Bridge, and the Sheppey Crossing was due to re-open at about 5pm.
