Dead shark found on Sheerness beach
00:01, 26 September 2015
Four girls were in for a surprise as they walked along Sheerness seafront after school.
Sydney Adams, 15, Abi Baker, 15, Trinity Heaton, 14, and Rukiye Olmez, 12, spotted a dead baby shark on the beach.
Unfortunately, the elements, and possibly seagulls, had got to it and there wasn’t much left.
The youngsters, however, said they were delighted with their find and planned to spend more time searching for unusual items.
It is not the first time the fearsome fish have ventured to Kent's shores.
In July, panicked swimmers fled from the water after spotting a shark fin cruising in shallow water in Herne Bay.
And back in 2013, seaside visitors were stunned to find more than a dozen dead sharks washed up on the same beach.
